The Monument Ave. branch is collecting donations for Artemis Center!
Artemis Center is Montgomery County’s only non-sheltered domestic violence resource center. The Center has been providing supportive services to victims of domestic violence and their children for nearly 30 years. The mission of Artemis Center is Leading the Community in its Commitment to End Domestic Violence. Additionally, our community education and advocacy programs help to create best practice responses to victims of domestic violence. Service programs include: Domestic Violence Hotline, Victim Advocacy, Children’s Therapy Program, and Family Violence Collaborative (FVC).
During the year 2020, 4,512 Hotline Crisis calls were taken by Artemis Center Advocates. And 5,921 Survivors of Domestic Violence and their children were provided life-saving services by Artemis Center.
The Monument Branch chose to collect cash donations as well as non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, blankets, towels, and small personal care items for Artemis Center. Domestic Violence can affect so many, including close family and friends, which is why we feel strongly that the resources Artemis Center provides are necessary for Survivors of Domestic Violence and their children.
